The TFS-290™ Optical Tracer Source features a high power +5 dBm output with 2 kHz modulation allowing it to be used as tracer signal generator for use with the TFS-FS1™ Optical Leakage Detector and most popular fiber identifiers. The optical tracer source operates at 1550 nm with ST, SC & FC adapters. This source does not operate in CW (continuous wave) mode and may not be suitable for use in loss testing applications with some meters. This is a factory upgrade that includes a replacement of an existing Ethernet Communications Interface (CI-1, CI-2, CI-3, or CI-4) in the 860 DSP or 860 DSPi with Ethernet Communications Interface (CI-5) and a WiFi (802.11 b/g) adapter. The WiFi adapter test modes include a survey that provides a list of access points within the range of the meter, along with field strength, status of security and SSID, channel and type, and MAC address. Additionally, the adapter can be used to connect to any authorized access point for communication of measurement data, meter configuration, or access to Internet web sites for work order close-out or other productivity improving functions. The complete factory upgrade package includes: all necessary hardware, software, and calibration (if needed) performed at Trilithic.
