The TFS-290™ Series Optical Tracer Sources, when used with TFS-FS1™ Optical Leakage Detector, allow technicians to perform leak detection and long distance optical tracing. The sources provide the specific tone modulated light output required by the TFS-FS1 and some fiber identifiers.

LEAKAGE AND FIBER IDENTIFICATION

The TFS-290 Series of tracer sources features a either a high power +5 dBm or very high power +15 dBm modulated output at 2kHz thereby allowing them to be used as tracer signal generators for use with the TFS-FS1 Optical Leakage Detector and most popular fiber identifiers. The optical tracer sources operate at 1550 nm with ST, SC & FC adapters. These sources do not operate in CW (continuous wave) mode and may not be suitable for use in loss testing applications with some meters.

RUGGED CONSTRUCTION

The optical tracer sources are both specifically designed with the field technician in mind providing a long battery life and rugged construction that includes high impact rubber  bumpers, weather resistant membrane switches, and a durable powder coat finish further protecting the tracer sources.

QUICK-CHARGING

The TFS-290™ Optical Tracer Source is powered by either four AA alkaline batteries or an AC/DC adapter with four AA NiMH batteries (both the adapter and NiMH batteries are included). The TFS-291™ Optical Tracer Source is powered by either four D alkaline batteries or an AC/DC adapter with four D NiMH batteries (both the adapter and NiMH batteries are included). 

In addition to standard charge mode, the units feature an emergency quickcharge mode that allows the user to charge the batteries in approximately 1 hour.

Repairs

All repairs carry a 90-day warranty against defects in replacement parts and repair workmanship.

Products

All Trilithic products are warranted against defects in materials or workmanship for a minimum of one year after shipment.

Trilithic's obligation under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the product after being returned to our factory, and Trilithic determining the product be indeed defective.

This is Trilithic's sole warranty and is given in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose and sets forth the buyers sole remedy.
